LARGE BLANC DE CHINE FIGURINE OF KUAN YIN ? EUROPEAN?

This is a large and very well sculpted figurine of Kuan Yin (or
Guanyin – as she is sometimes known as) the Godess of Mercy. When I
first saw her I thought that she was made in the Far East but when I
looked closer and turned her over I found the figure “33â€
impressed into its base. These figures are far to European in nature
to emanate from the Far East. I am much more inclined to believe that
she was made in Europe but have no other marks to help me. She is made
of heavy porcelain and as I said very well sculpted showing a lot of
detail in both her hands and headdress. Everything about this figurine
is of top quality. Her hand, jewels and hair decoration appear to have
been hand applied after she came out of the mould and before firing.
This piece would grace any sideboard or cabinet.

Condition: I can’t spot any damage on her which is surprising
because of the extremely delicate detail the artist has applied.
Size: 340mm (13 ¼â€) tall standing on a square base of 85mm (3
¼â€).

This is a lot of china from my mother in law. It includes 3 pieces. The
first is a wonderful butter dish and lid. It has a small ammount of
rubbing to the gold on the edge of the plate only. It measures 15cm x
12.5. This lot also includes a bowl which measures 14cm accross and a
fluted dish which measures 11cm accross. All are in great condition
without cracks, chips or crazing. They are marked English Ware
Lancaster & Sandland ~ Hanley England. They all feature the wonderful
pattern entitled "YE OLDEN DAYS". Please email me with any questions.
